OUR TEAM
During the summer of 2017, The Niche Homeschool Group's vision was launched with a core group of families seeking a fun loving, energetic community that wove together a classical education model with some of Charlotte Mason's key philosophies. These same families moved forward that fall, and opened the school year with approximately 20 students and 3 age leveled classes. The community has thrived these last several of years, and the group continues to add classes as it grows into a full k-11 program for the 2020-2021 school year!
Miss Kim is the Niche Coordinator, and Conductor for the 3rd-5th graders. Kim has a Bachelor's degree in elementary education from Concordia University in Portland Oregon, and has a passion for seeing kids develop a LOVE of learning. Kim taught in a public school k-5 setting for 7 years. As a firm believer in the motto "better together" she has a heart for building up and encouraging other homeschool moms. Kim's favorite part of The Niche is watching the relationships form amongst the kids each week as they continue to make life long memories learning together!
Miss Adriana, teaches our "specials" this year, and is a bubbly fun mother of 3! Adriana studied Communications at Liberty University. Adriana has the gift of leadership which has been evident throughout her life as she has lead various devotional, and bible study groups. Adriana's students know they are loved, and her genuine caring personality encourages them on a weekly basis. Miss Adriana believes in the Niche and it's mission because it is her desire to live out scripture and teach her kids how to do that. This group, The Niche brings 1 Thessalonians 5:11 to life every week!
Our 1/2 kiddos are lead by Miss Beth who has a Bachelors degree in English from UNC Wilmington. Beth strives each and every week to engage her students and works diligently to bring their curriculum to life. Beth pours her heart into her classes and her students. Beth's commitment to The Niche is driven by her desire to help create a place where little minds are excited to learn, and not stifled. Beth believes in the Niche's positive atmosphere where nurturing conductors, loving parents and uplifting peer relationships create a wonderful place for children to develop into life long learners.
Conductors are trained parents, educators, or other adults who facilitate the weekly classes within the Niche setting. Conductors have been through an application process as well as several training sessions in preparation for leading their class. Our application process works to ensure our program is a good fit for both parties as we ask about their educational philosophies, experience, faith, and views on curriculum. In order to become a conductor applicants must be able to agree to execute the program in its design and so aligning a vision in the beginning is crucial. We spend a great deal of time ensuring we know the applicant prior to placing them on the conductor crew. If you have a heart for becoming a "CONDUCTOR" please click here to get more information on the current needs and how to get started.
